This is was hands-down the best airbnb on our 17 day road trip. It was clean, spacious, and just overall enjoyable and easy. We hiked Fern Canyon (it was wet!!!), which was a notable highlight. We would love to return for a longer stay and more hiking.

The room is cozy and comfortable, and the surrounding environment is quiet and beautiful. There is plenty of kitchenware, which is a big plus for the people who cook during their stay.

This place was perfect for our trip adventuring through the redwoods. Perfectly situated between Jedediah Smith and Del Norte to the north, and Prairie Creek and Redwood NP to the south Normally I’d try camping, but decided to not risk there being rain storms in November. This place was perfect. After a day of hiking, we enjoyed coming “home” here for a hot shower, warm meal, a cozy night in, and a plush bed to sleep in. Check in was super easy and there were no problems during the stay. I highly recommend!

We loved staying here. It was a great location to see the Redwoods. It also has its own beautiful view on the water. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay!
Chinook RV Resort

5/5

We found a little gem on Hwy 101 in the middle of the Redwoods. Chinook RV Resort is right on the Klamath River and less than a mile from the Pacific Coast. We RV camped here for five nights in April-2021. The location is perfect to see the Redwood National & State Parks. There are lots of hiking trails and scenic views close by. We drove 5 minutes to watch the sea lions and sea otters on the coast and 15 minutes to watch the whales migrating north. And the elk herds are remarkable in the meadows near here. The resort offers full hookups, pull thru sites, a shower house and laundry services. We did not use the showers but did look in and everything was super clean. The laundry has two washers and two dryers which is adequate for the size of the park. We did use the laundry facility. The office staff are friendly and very helpful. The owners are hands on and working all the time. They keep a nice, well maintained RV park. The owner, Elmer even kept the fire pit going at night for anyone who wanted to sit at the group fire pit by the river. We definitely recommend Chinook RV Resort if you are passing through this area.

Chinook RV Resort
Many of our visitors, who now return year after year, initially came to Chinook RV Resort to just stay a day or two. They found our resort a pleasing and comfortable location to relax and enjoy the many activities and amenities Chinook RV Resort had to offer. Chinook RV Resort is an excellent home base centered around many local attractions, tours outstanding fishing, boating, hiking trails among Giant Redwood Sequoias, sandy beaches and convenience facilities.

Chinook RV Resort
Such a wonderful RV park. Beautiful surrounding, very clean bathrooms and showers with well groomed grounds. The owners as well as the staff are so helpful and friendly, I felt very welcome. I’ve been coming here for 8 years, usually for a week, this year we stayed for a month. It went by way too fast. Next year I would like to try their Air BnB. They are really nicely decorated with a very warm and cozy feel. Thank you to all of you who made our trip so fabulous!”My family has been coming up to the Klamath for over 45 years. We have stayed at many of the RV parks in the area while most have been nice Chinook RV Park is clearly the best. The people at Chinook RV Park are absolutely the best around. From the owners to the wonderful people who work at the Camp ground.

We were weary travelers with a bad wheel, spoke with the nicest woman reassuring us to drive the 10 miles, and they would help. They recommended a mechanic, and we stayed two nights. What a beautiful side-step in our travels along the Klamath River with pull-through sites, clean facilities, and plenty of scenic walking options. Great spot for fishing people! Thank you to all the friendly, helpful and kind operators. We shall return!

My Dad Al Black stayed at this camp ground 7 months out of each year. In 2009 while at the camp he fell ill and passed away from cancer 4 months later in January of 2010. My family had a Memorial service for him at the Chinook RV in August of 2010. Without the wonderful people there it would not have happened as well as it did, they all worked so hard for us to put the Memorial together and we had a great service for him. My Dad loved the people here. They also have the best campers there, pretty much anybody there will help you if you need anything from helping to hook up your RV to putting your fishing pole together. They will help you fish, teach you how to can Salmon, take you out on their boat it is a true family there. The RV sites are great along with having a full bathroom and shower that is always clean they also have a laundry room that I have never had to wait to wash or dry my clothes. The park itself is very clean the have a tack shop a grocery store, you can rent boats and they have Bob’s kayak rentals and Bob’s kayak guided tours. It is all around a great place to stay. They also have a fire ring that is on a deck overlooking the river that they light every night, it is surrounded by seats. People come out at night some roast marshmallows some just bring their coffee or whatever they are drinking and talk a very nice way to meet new friends. They also put in a wonderful grass tent camping area that they named in honor of my Dad The Al Black tent camping area it doesn’t get much better than this place to pitch a tent.

Thank-you to everybody at Chinook for welcoming my family and me and for having such a great place to come relax and be closer to my Dad.”

“Originally, from the San Francisco Bay area, Susan and I, have been visiting Chinook RV Resort every year for the past 15 years. The friendly and accommodating services of Klamath and the hospitable folks at Chinook RV Resort kept us coming back until we decided to call Klamath our home after we retired.”

“My boyfriend and I were just driving through on a road trip back home from the Pacific Northwest and we’re looking for a place to tent camp out for the night and we stumbled upon this gem. Owners were so welcoming and even brought the wood we purchased to us at our pit. There is a separate tent camping space behind the RV’s which was nice to not be in a complete open area like some RV parks. Right on the water too. Hot showers and well kept bathrooms are always appreciated and this place didn’t disappoint.”

“I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful stay that we had at Chinook RV Resort!! We were very impressed with the facilities. The suite was very comfortable and clean. It was so nice to have such personal service. My favorite part was the fire pit that sits right on the waters edge…what a beautiful site. We can’t wait to come again.”

“Chinook RV Resort is a great place to camp and enjoy the beauty of the area. It’s close to many scenic places, the redwoods, meadows where Elk like to graze, the rugged coastline on the way North to Crescent City, to mention a few. We enjoyed sitting around the community fire pit and visiting with other campers, and watching the awesome sunsets on the Klamath River. Fishing and jet-boat riding are also options to enjoy. The grounds at Chinook are well maintained by a friendly, helpful staff and many other little extras are offered to make your stay more comfortable. We certainly enjoyed our week there and would love to return. We tell all our friends about it and recommend it highly.”

“Thank you for a wonderful week’s vacation at your resort.  Our first time here and definitely won’t be our last.

After driving 7 ½ hours and not knowing what to expect we were very pleased to drive into a very clean campsite with an extraordinary view of the River.  Even more pleased were we to meet some of the nicest people on earth and after only a day here we felt like family not only by the staff but all of the other campers.

My husband enjoyed his first time surf fishing for Perch and much to our amazement actually caught quite a few.  This could not have been achieved without the knowledge of some of the experienced fisherman at the campground who provided tips and tricks of the Klamath.”

Chinook RV Resort is a little piece of heaven.
